    Hot dogs for lunch:
Grandma Nancy and Myra Bri Logan (in his Huck Finn pants)

Tucking Logan in for his nap, I heard Kirby yell, "Kendric, come in here NOW!"  As I was on my way out to see what was going on, Myra skipped in, "Mom!  There's a bear outside!"  (Myra had discovered the bear as she was riding her bike over by the trampoline.  She had looked up, and there he was on the other side of the fence.)

The bear was still there when I got outside.  Seemed to ignore us.  The phrase "Problem Bear" popped into my mind, but Kirby (or Mom) suggested, "Maybe he just woke up.  Maybe he's still groggy."  Kirby and Kendric finally hollered and waved and tried to chase him away.  After a few begrudging steps, he climbed up a tree:

He eventually shuffled along to the north.  We hope he kept going, but the kids aren't allowed to wander beyond the house for a while...

  • The camera batteries were technically dead after lunch, so the bear pictures were... bonus.  I wish we'd been able to get a picture of the horses and Sandy -- they were very curious about the bear, gathered around watching, following it as it it left...  Funny, funny.

  • I am amazed. I tried and tried for good bubble blowing pictures the other day... obviously you didn't get to see any. I love the one popping. Cool bear picture too. They LOOK so nice and cuddly. I also like the summer clothes with a warm sweater. That is how it is here.

  • Funny:  I was at Doty's and apparently Kirby was on the phone with Connie when he saw the bear and he just said "Hang on... I'll call you back."  When he called back he was like "Sorry... a bear was chasing my kids"

  • Oooh, you have lots of good Wildlife Reports going on :) . Deer and bears and kids, oh my! Love the bubbles, too. Especially the one where Myra popped it in the sky.

Thanks for the vote of confidence! I can't wait to get my hands on one of those big bad boys (aka. cameras). You would be an awesome photographer, btw.....eh, you are an awesome photographer. :c)

  • Yay for bubble pictures...those are some of the best I've seen! =)

And wow.. the bears are starting to come out here too: we've seen at least one set of mama-n-cubs, but I'm pretty sure there's more.

  • Good to hear the children weren't bear bait. I think they probably make enough noise to keep the bears away. A good dog helps too. We never had any trouble with Jasper on guard. I will have to send you some indian bubble pictures. Happy Easter.

  • Yeah, how many kids get to say "I chased a bear up a tree today"? He does look a bit groggy. Hope your trash is all bear-proofed.

  • (to Aunt Jayne:)  Since we moved here, I've wanted a dog.  (At the very least, they're a good alarm system, and I think boys should have a dog, etc. etc.)  But Grandpa Merle has dogs, and there just isn't room enough on this mountain for another.  *pout*

  • Ditto on the amazing bubble photos.  Be proud, be very proud of the popping one.

  • Love it!  Bubbles are sooo cool and the popping one is AMAZING!!! Good shot girl!  I like bears, just not around my kids!  Looks nice up there, cold here still!!! :(   Happy Easter!
